Archived Update April, 2007
Greetings from C-CIARN Agriculture,
As part of the National Assessment for Climate Change in Canada (due out in 2007) C-CIARN has created a set of five posters (in French and English)
describing how Canadians can adapt to living in a changing climate. These will be available in July, 2007. Each one represents a different sector of
Canadian life: Agriculture, Coastal Zones, Forests, Health, and Water Resources. The high quality posters (26”x 39”) are designed to appeal to a
general audience. Please contact Ellen Wall (ewall@uoguelph.ca) if you would like to receive one (or more) of these posters. We would also appreciate
your suggestions for groups/organizations/institutions who might be interested in them.
Resources of Interest
1. Climate Change scenarios and the potential for crop production in BC are featured
here
2. Adaptation Actions database This resource catalogues how organisations in the UK are adapting to climate change. “Some change in our climate
is going to be unavoidable and we will all need to adapt to minimise our risks. Climate change will also provide opportunities and we should try to
exploit these. Many organisations are looking for examples of actions they can take to minimise risks or exploit opportunities. This database can
help: it shows what others are doing to adapt and to help organisations identify what actions they might take to reduce their risks.”

3. FAO has a climate change web site, Climpag, aimed at bringing together the various aspects and interactions between weather, climate and agriculture
in the general context of food security. More details here
4. Presentations and related material from the Canadian Climate Change Impacts & Adaptation Directorate (CCIAD) Speaker Series are available
here
